About Us

Jeff and Becky are longtime missionaries and directors of Project AmaZon. Jeff, who was working as an engineer with Dupont, had a heart for missions when he met and married Becky who was studying to become a nurse. As the daughter of missionaries Melvin and Katherine Huber, Becky grew up in southern Brazil and her desire was always to return to the mission field as a medical missionary.

So in March of 1982, Jeff and Becky Hrubik came to Santarém, Brazil as full time missionaries. They worked alongside Becky’s brother, PAZ founder Luke Huber, establishing the mission’s medical ministries as well as organizing and developing Project AmaZon.

After Luke went home to be with the Lord, Jeff and Becky were made directors of the mission under the covering of Melvin Huber and the PAZ board of directors.

Jeff and Becky oversee the PAZ bases across the Amazon Basin and also provide supervision for the other American and Brazilian missionaries working with PAZ. They teach frequently in the church and at conferences, especially on matters related to marriage and family.
